Overland Park in US News Top 10 for best places to grow up. Overland Park was among 2,000 communities considered by U.S. News & World Report when it determined “America’s 10 Best Places to Grow Up.” The list also has Virginia Beach, Va., Madison, Ala, San Jose, Calif., Boston, Denver and a few others. Overland Park is a family-friendly suburb with lots to offer.
Community attributes that were considered included low crime rate, strong school system, expansive green spaces to play in, plenty of nearby family events and an abundance of artistic and recreational activities.
“Overland Park has always been a destination for families. Survey after survey shows that education and a safe community are important,” Mayor Carl Gerlach said.
