I plan on getting my nails done for the first time and do not know where to go. Can someone tell me of a nice, clean, professional salon that I can go to that isn’t going to charge me my whole wallet?

Answer: I go to Elegant Nails on 87th and Lackman in Lenexa OR Real Tech Nails on 75th and Metcalf.

The goods should be kept above the floor by using skids or pallets. The boxes should be of same size so that packing can be done easily and the space is also used properly. Worn out boxes can cause damage. Keep the heaviest boxes at the bottom and fill the boxes to their fullest capacity. Rubbermaid bins are very good containers for storage. They resist moisture from entering inside the container. The bins are also buckle resistant. Disassemble large pieces of furniture to save space and keep the screws and bolts in a bag or container.

When storing furniture, it should be disassembled. The legs of tables should be packed with paper to protect them from scratches while they are being stored in Overland Park storage. Place the tables upside down and keep the chairs one seat facing the other, separated with paper or cloth. Do not lean furniture against the outside wall.

Books and important papers should be kept in file boxes. Place the books in a flat position. Do not overfill the boxes as books are very heavy. Place plastic sheets on pallets to protect the boxes from moisture.

Clothes should be kept in wardrobe boxes.

Breakable items should be individually wrapped before placing them in china cartons. A divider kit can be used to keep them more secure. Any gaps should be filled with paper.

Who’s Firing is a weekly survey of organizations announcing (or rumoring) layoffs for the week ended 10-23-09. Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies that are contracting.

Layoffs announced and rumored this week were in the Government, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Financial/Banking, and Publishing sectors.

Inclusion on this listing doesn’t mean the entire industry is down, as many from the same sector appeared on the “Who’s Hiring” article published 10/19/09. It is interesting to note that while Federal hiring is on the rise, a number of State and Local governments have continued to see cutbacks for over the past month.

Health care organizations were laying off such as Valley Mental Health, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Cook County Health System, Oak Forest Hospital, Pfizer, Carestream Health, Navilyst Medical, Eli Lilly, Smith Medical.

Publishers continued to shed jobs as Time, The New York Times, The Charlotte Observer, and McGraw-Hill announced layoffs, while rumors swirled all around Conde-Nast about which units would face job cuts.

Job seekers: You might want to look in greener pastures than these companies.
